Christine Etchegoyhen
President, France Hydroélectricité, national union for small hydroelectric plants


Born into a family that's been producing hydroelectricity for more than 125 years, Christine Etchegoyhen is now managing a company Forces Motrices de Gurmençon (FMG) which she incorporated in 1996. She supervises 6 small hydroelectric plants in the Pyrénées-Atlantiques and Haute-Vienne departments.

She's been the representing the producers of hydroelectricity at the bassin Adour Garonne Commitee from 1999 to 201. She was also the president of the Union for Hydroelectricity Producers of the Adour valley from 2001 to 2017, representative of Ecowatt at the France Residents Association from 2003 to 2007. She's been the  Administrator of France Hydro Électricité since 2007, and starting 2017 Christine Etchegoyhen took on the position of President of France Hydroélectricité which oversees more than 650 plants and 170 suppliers (companies, artisans, service providers, artisans, prestataires de services, etc.).
